We work with senior animal health officers from the City of London to deliver online and face to face training to Local Authority inspectors. Our training focuses on the implementation of The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations in England (2018), Wales (2021) and Scotland (2021).

VetSkill VTEC Level 3 Certificate

in Licensing of Animal Activities

The Vetskill VTEC Level 3 certificate in Licensing of Animal Activities is an Ofqual regulated qualification designed for learners who are currently working for local authorities as licensing inspections under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.

This regulated level 3 qualification meets the legislative requirements for Animal Licensing Officers to be suitably qualified, providing the underpinning knowledge and skills for the licensing of all licensed animal activities in England.

The units contained within this qualification have been rigorously developed, to include the essentials for working within the sector legally, professionally and ethically; whilst supporting the development of theoretical knowledge, complemented by the necessary skills required to fulfil the roles and responsibilities of the Animal licensing Officer.

In order to carry out animal activities licensing inspections, it is essential that learners recognise and understand the links between licensing regulations and other animal-related legislation.  Learners should also comprehend the range of powers held by animal licensing officers, and how to deal with challenging situations
